- Oversee all aspects of the AIDSFree Lesotho program's financial operations, including grants management and monitoring.
Manage program startup functions related to finance, including but not limited to local registration, establishment of bank accounts, and leasing office space.
Recruit and supervise financial staff and foster a positive and results oriented work and team environment.
Develop approaches to contain costs, improve cost effectiveness and streamline financial management.
Monitor program expenditures and budgets and ensure timely and accurate financial reports are provided to the AIDSFree HQ team and to USAID.
Provide oversight of procurement of equipment and services.
Ensure project funds are used strictly in compliance with AIDSFree, JSI, and USAID procedures, rules, and regulations.
Assist the Country Director with daily program management as part of the senior management team.
- Liaise with the AIDSFree US office team and keep them regularly informed of in country progress, challenges, and any proposed changes or variances in budgets or planning.
- Bachelor's degree and minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in accounting and/or financial management (PEPFAR funded project experience a plus).
Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA, CIMA) and/or a Master’s Degree in Business Administration a plus
At least 6 years of previous financial management experience with USAID funded projects
Strong understanding of US Government-funded project implementation and assistance and acquisition rules and regulations. Experience managing and monitoring grants on USAID projects highly desirable.
Financial management experience and skills including accounting, budgeting and financial analysis
Knowledge of Quickbooks or similar programs and Microsoft Office
Excellent English communications skills, both verbal and written
Demonstrated competence to assess priorities and manage a variety of activities and staff members in a time-sensitive environment and meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality.
